Joint Venture Specialist

The Joint Venture Specialist identifies and communicates billing, registration, charging and compliance issues, and assists in the updating of Joint Venture responsibility grids and Joint Venture policy and procedure manual. This position also supports the preparation, creation, and distribution of all standard / customized reports and billing / collection information. The ability to compassionately engage in conversation with patients on their responsibilities for Copayment, Prepayment and Outstanding Balances.

What You Can Expect

  • Provide assistance in the quality assurance audits of processes to ensure appropriate registration, charge entry, billing and collections.
  • Update and maintain accounts to include demographic, charge entry and department class changes.
  • Monitor account, and provide feedback and recommendations on any compliance issues with state and federal billing regulations to ensure compliance with STARK guidelines.
  • Visit Joint Venture partners to provide education of policy and procedural changes, resolve any issues / concerns and to provide general customer service, to promote positive relationships with partners.
  • Identify and communicate billing, registration and charging issues and work with stakeholders to resolve.
  • Assist in the updating of Joint Venture responsibility grids and Joint Venture policy and procedure manuals and provides regular education to Franciscan Alliance departments, CBO and Joint Venture partner staff to ensure ease of access by Patient Access and CBO staff.
  • Prepare, create, and distribute all standard / customized reports and billing / collection information; and verify Franciscan Alliance and Joint Venture partners have received reports and information.
  • Provide customer service, and resolve incoming Joint Venture partner inquiries and CBO service excellence complaints in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Resolve Epic denial and claim edit work queues, including reports from the CBO, Patient Access work queues and financial combined billing payment reports

Qualifications

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree
  • Required High School Diploma / GED
  • 1 year Hospital or physician office experience including registration, charge entry and billing Required
  • Travel is required : Never or Rarely
