A Travel Nurse RN specializing in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) procedures is needed for a hospital in Central Nebraska, offering competitive pay. The nurse will assist in circulating and scrubbing for open heart procedures, working primarily in a structured 7a-3 : 30p schedule with on-call duties. This role involves collaboration with a dedicated CVOR team and encompasses a variety of surgical cases, including CABG and vascular operations.

Job Details

  • Hospital in Central Nebraska is looking for an experienced CVOR nurse.
  • Nurse will have to circulate and scrub a plus.
  • Shift is 7a-1530.
  • Call is not listed but will discuss in interview if needed.

    • Job Requirements

  • Experience or 'Must have' skills : Handing open heart procedures, working in a general OR.
  • Is scrubbing required for RNs? No.
  • Is there a manager / Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? A Manager and Charge daily, no room assignment.

    • Schedule Information

  • 8s or 10s beginning at 0700 M-F, same schedule week to week.
  • Call is somewhat self-scheduled.
  • Weeknight / Call Requirements : Yes, 10-15 total days per month on call, combination of nights and weekends.
  • Weekend / Call Requirements : Yes.
  • Holiday / Call Requirements : Yes as needed.
  • What is call response time? 15 minutes.

  • # of Suites : 11
  • Average # of cases per day : 18

    • Additional Details

  • Common Cases : CABG, Vascular, Lungs.
  • OR techs? Yes.
  • EMR : Epic.
  • How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? One week.
  • Additional Notes : Will work on CVOR team embedded in the general OR. When not doing cardiovascular cases will do general, ortho, urology and ENT cases.
