POSITION TITLE : EMT-Basic and Firefighting Instructor (Adult Education / Career Center)

REPORTS TO : Program Director and Lead Instructors

JOB SUMMARY :

The EMT-Basic and Firefighting Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction to adult learners enrolled in the EMT-Basic and Firefighter I & II programs at the Career Center. This position combines classroom teaching, hands-on skills training, and field / clinical supervision to prepare students for state and national certification. The instructor ensures compliance with Missouri state regulations, the National Registry of EMTs, the Missouri Division of Fire Safety, and NFPA standards.

QUALIFICATIONS : REQUIRED

• Current Missouri EMT-Basic license and National Registry EMT certification (or equivalent recognized by the Missouri Bureau of EMS).
• Completion of a Missouri-approved EMS instructor training program that meets or exceeds the U.S. DOT EMS Instructor Curriculum.
• Firefighter II certification recognized by the Missouri Division of Fire Safety.
• Fire Service Instructor I certification (or higher) recognized by the Missouri Division of Fire Safety.
• Minimum of two (2) years documented field experience as an EMT and as a firefighter.
• Strong knowledge of adult education methods and effective instructional strategies.
• Ability to demonstrate and evaluate both cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills.
