Job Title : Reinsurance Accountant

Location : Sarasota, FL (On-site)

Compensation : $80,000-$90,000

Overview of the role :

Perform accounting, reconciliation, and reporting for ceded reinsurance programs

Prepare and analyze reinsurance journal entries, statements, and bordereaux

Coordinate with actuarial, claims, and underwriting departments to ensure accurate data flow

Assist with reinsurance recoverable analysis, billing, and collections

Maintain compliance with statutory and GAAP accounting standards for reinsurance

Support audit requests and regulatory reporting related to reinsurance

Participate in projects related to new reinsurance treaties, system upgrades, or process improvements

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

2-5 years of experience in reinsurance or insurance accounting (ceded experience preferred)

Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles

Proficiency in Excel; experience with reinsurance systems a plus

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
