The Opportunity :
The UCF Connect Center is now accepting applications for an Academic Success Coach, Senior. This position is located at the UCF Connect Center Transfer Center. The Academic Success Coach, Senior is a professional position that provides a demonstrated knowledge level of coaching support to prospective and current UCF students. This role delivers support in every aspect of the student experience to include recruitment, enrollment, coaching, student services, retention, and graduation. Working collaboratively with teams of professionals and academic program partners, the Academic Success Coach, Senior will use demonstrated coaching methodologies to develop ongoing coaching relationships with transfer students to early integration, degree progression and goal completion.
This position / classification may be moved at management's discretion within the SSWB division to a commensurate level position as determined by the Vice President of Student Success and Well-Being or his / her designee.
Responsibilities :
Develops and implements highly proactive outreach services to students, with particular attention to retention, persistence and graduation.
Assists students in academic support and major / career exploration.
Provides ongoing coaching to encourage successful degree completion and graduation.
Empowers students to develop plans for success that include understanding degree requirements and advocates for themselves.
Monitors / tracks student progress and performance, analyze challenges and barriers, determines solutions, and conducts intervention activities and processes for students that could impede retention, persistence, and graduation initiatives.
Provides guidance to students in navigating systems for the university, such as undergraduate admissions applications, MyUCF Portal, e-mail, and Web courses, among others.
Serves as a resource for students to understand university policies and procedure.
Maintains a case roster of students in the customer relationship management system(s); tracks student engagements; assists with developing and presenting reports and data.
Meets established unit benchmarks, customer service standards, key performance indicators, and daily productivity metrics.
Conducts workshops and classroom visits with prospective and current students to inform students about UCF requirements to ensure a smooth transition to UCF.
Develops intentional programing for various student populations and identifies additional support for these populations.
Assists with new student transfer orientation including tracking newly admitted students through the orientation and enrollment process to ready students for registration.
Attends and presents information at recruitment events, information sessions, and at various meetings.
May be asked to train and mentor student assistants and student peer coaches.
Conducts workshops and classroom visits with prospective and current students to inform students about UCF requirements to ensure a smooth transition to UCF.
Develops intentional programing for various student populations and identifies additional support for these populations.
Assists with new student transfer orientation including tracking newly admitted students through the orientation and enrollment process to ready students for registration.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of higher education experience or Master's degree in a related field of study.
Experience or demonstrated knowledge of admissions, financial aid, advising, coaching, student accessibility services, veterans services, career services, student involvement and student rights and responsibilities.
Effective communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as a willingness and commitment to working with teams, students, partners and faculty / staff from diverse backgrounds.
Proven track record working with student affairs, student services, or higher education administration, knowledge and practical application of student development theory and concepts for students in transition.
Ability to speak in public or in a virtual setting.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Teams.
Knowledge of SalesForce, EAB and / or PeopleSoft a plus.
Special Instructions to Applicants :
The selected candidate should be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings on occasion to accommodate students, departmental, and UCF needs.
