Required Qualifications:

  • A doctoral degree from an accredited institution in the US or abroad, preferably in a relevant field such as Hindu Studies, Sanskrit, Religious Studies, Vedic Studies, or Hindu Philosophy. Must have earned a full professor rank with tenure.
  • A distinguished record of teaching, scholarly publication, and service to the field that demonstrates a commitment to academic excellence.
  • A minimum of 15 years of academic leadership and faculty experience, preferably in the United States of America.

  • A knowledge of and willingness to engage with the greater Indian community in the US and abroad, the primary stakeholders of the University.

The CAO shall:

  • Report to the President.
  • Provide strategic leadership for all academic units, colleges, schools, departments, centers, programs, and faculty, consistent with the knowledge systems rooted in Hindu thought.
  • Lead the development, revision, and expansion of academic offerings, including degree and non-degree programs, fostering the contemporary relevance of Hindu Thought and its application.
  • Ensure academic excellence through curriculum design, oversight, faculty development, and program assessment.
  • Develop a strategic plan for streamlining and enhancing the university’s content-delivery platforms with a view to improving student satisfaction; identify appropriate suppliers and negotiate long-term contracts with vendors for administrative and planning resources.
  • Coordinate reviews of academic programs in consultation with faculty and students in preparation for accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission.

Compensation:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Includes opportunities for professional growth, sabbatical, and engagement with global Dharmic networks.
