The Account Manager, Licensing will oversee the management of both in-licensing and out-licensing partnerships. This includes strategic planning, business development, financial oversight, and day-to-day operational responsibilities. You will act as the main point of contact for up to 20 partners, ensuring seamless coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
Business Development
Out-Licensing :
Onboard new partners across brand, product, sales, and marketing channels.
Lead seasonal product and design direction kickoff meetings, providing guidance on assortment planning, distribution, and marketing.
Manage the approval process for product and marketing to ensure strong brand alignment.
Develop templates and processes to scale licensing opportunities.
Facilitate marketing direction meetings, including creative concept development, storyboarding, and campaign execution.
In-Licensing :
Create pitch decks for new properties to support internal and external property selling.
Compile external licensing applications.
Collect market and geographic forecasts.
Collate commercial plans across product and distribution channels.
Coordinate the intake process with internal teams and post-launch sales reporting.
Financial Management
Out-Licensing :
Review quarterly and yearly business plans, providing guidance for growth opportunities.
Monitor and support forecasting dialogues to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Oversee royalty collection processes and explore growth opportunities around product and distribution.
In-Licensing :
Create and manage P&Ls for licensed properties.
Monitor sales forecasts and provide quarterly status updates.
Ensure accurate royalty reporting in coordination with accounts payable.
Manage external partner forecasting and reporting as needed.
Legal and Contracts
Out-Licensing :
Review and support contract execution, including sample approvals, royalty schedules, and terms of sale.
Collaborate with legal and partners on low-complexity contract amendments.
In-Licensing :
Maintain and update contract records for all agreements.
Ensure compliance with inventory management and other contractual obligations.
Day-to-Day Management
Act as the primary point of contact for partners and internal teams, addressing ad hoc questions and downstream execution.
Ensure internal understanding and communication of deal terms across teams.
Monitor and manage inventory and contract terms.
Qualifications and Skills :
Proven expertise in licensing, merchandising, and project management.
Strong skills in project management, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Understanding of consumer products and licensing processes.
Light accounting knowledge with the ability to analyze and create forecasts and P&Ls.
Problem-solving mindset with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience with global brand management and marketing strategies.
