Vaco Atlanta is currently recruiting for multiple Accounting Consultants for great clients of ours in Atlanta!  These positions will be responsible for a variety of general accounting duties, month end close activities, such as journal entries, reconciliations and preparation of numerous reports along with the ability to analyze financial information. Our clients have great cultures and afford tremendous growth opportunities. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Accounting, CPA or CPA track with 4 years plus of experience that could be public or private. These positions offer hybrid schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for a variety of month end close activities, which may include but is not limited to journal entries, reconciliations, amortizations, accruals, deferrals and other adjusting entries

Performs accounting across multiple business units, legal entities, and multiple systems

Perform monthly financial analyses of expense trends and budget variances

Assist with compilation and submission of monthly financial information to parent companies

Compile internal financial reports and analyses for senior management

Assist with both external financial audits and internal control audits, preparing required worksheets and documents

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups and filters

Other projects, duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. CPA or CPA track HIGHLY preferred.

Minimum four years of related experience in an accounting system environment, ideally using systems and applications

Strong month end close experience with exposure to the whole close cycle & complete chart of accounts

Proven ability to handle complicated reconciliations for bank accounts and all balance sheet accounts

Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Financial Reporting

Advanced Microsoft Excel, including pivots, v-lookups, sum-if statements and data connections
