What You Do
What You Do
Support MTM business objectives through continuous evaluation and implementation of comprehensive strategies that enable the company to effectively purchase goods and services cost-effectively, and complies with policies, rules, laws, and regulations consistent with MTM’s Compliance & Ethics (C&E) Program
As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also :
- Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
- Collaborate with international team members from Mazda and Toyota or other customers
- Make necessary decisions and provide direction to Procurement and Inventory Accounting Specialists
- Negotiate with suppliers for cost savings and avoidance utilizing competitive bench-marking of detailed cost elements and analysis of cost variance
- Lead annual price review activities with suppliers to promote deep understanding of cost drivers with a focus on manufacturing improvement
- Execute strategy and work closely with buyers on other commodities to ensure all targets and due dates are met
- Establish and assess cost standards to reach a consistent, efficient approach to pricing, including escalating any payment issues as necessary
- Review and approve purchase requisitions, perform checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of purchases
- Maintain purchasing strategy matrix to gather historical cost and supplier comparison
- Understand and analyze respective commodity market trends to ensure MTM is using the right supplier candidates and technologies
- Work with SBP and Purchasing / Procurement specialists to design and deliver just-in-time e-learning courses, workshops, and other training venues (such as lunch-and-learn).
- Drive business KPI creation / development and lead market research for peer benchmarking
- Approve general stores, consignor parts, and DRM inventory audits and reconciliations
- Lead excess and obsolete inventory analysis during financial quarterly close
- Lead monthly and quarterly variance analysis for productive and nonproductive inventory consumption and end of period balance
- Manage daily follow up of general stores inventory activities (purchases and disbursements)
- Manage physical inventories of MTM and consignor production related inventories
- Review inventory related journal entries monthly to ensure accuracy of financial reporting
- Support all SOX activities for accounting and finance monthly close
- Support annual financial statement audit conducted by external auditing firm
- Produce and update weekly leader report for A&F ODMS Board (for office)
- Manage and support people development, set goals and targets for each Specialist
- Support initiatives to benchmark and refine procurement and financial reporting systems
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the department
- Be available to work outside of normal work schedule, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)
