As a Project Accounting Specialist, you’ll act as a liaison between the project accounting team, the contracts team, and the project managers by setting up, modifying and maintaining project records within the financial systems. You will also be part of the weekly process of gathering and analyzing of project data. The Project Accounting Specialist reports to the Accounting Manager.
- Serves as the contract liaison among the project managers, contracts team, and finance team.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure project setup is accurate and fulfills the needs of the project in accordance with contract terms, conditions, and company policies before being input into Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint.
- Update projects and budgets within Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint with any change orders, modifications, or amendments.
- Updates to the project record as needed including fee reallocation, task restructuring, reconciliation, etc.
- Perform weekly data analysis and identify key indicators for decision making.
- Perform various ad-hoc reporting and data cleanup as needed.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- 0-2 years experience in related responsibility, AEC industry preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel with ability to create formula driven spreadsheets, familiarity with pivot table, vlookup, xlookup and other summarizing tools is a plus.
- Understanding project accounting concepts is a plus.
- Data analysis experiences is a plus.
- This office job primarily operates in a professional office and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. May occasionally be exposed to noise. While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee may include constantly sitting, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and occasional standing, moving, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, and coordination. This job will rarely require lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
