Accounting Intern

Since its formation in 1969, National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation, or CFC, located in Dulles, Virginia, has provided capital and industry-leading financial products to more than 1,000 not-for-profit, consumer-controlled utility systems across the United States. The National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (NRUCFC) offers a unique opportunity for college students to engage in a summer internship in one of four distinct fields. This program is designed to help develop essential technical and professional skills. NRUCFC Internship Program - Summer 2025. Internships available in Accounting, Capital Markets, Economic Research and Data Analysis. Nine-week program from June 2 - August 8.

Roles and Responsibilities

Accounting Internship

  • Assist with financial reporting tasks such as financial statement reconciliations and preparing SEC

disclosures.

  • Review and organize all accounting processes, identify any gaps, and develop a comprehensive

    • tracking index.

  • Support general ledger close activities and quality check invoices and assist accounts payable with

    • processing.

  • Help prepare data for financial forecasts and analyze budget-to-actual variances.

    • Qualifications

  • An Undergraduate Student who will be a Junior or Senior in Fall 2025
  • Majoring in one of the following areas :

    • o Accounting / Capital Markets - Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

  • 3.0 GPA or higher; transcripts must be provided
  • Strong communication skills both written and conversational
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes and incorporate them into daily work
  • Organize and manage time effectively
  • Be able to work in a team and collaborate well with others
