Vera Therapeutics (Nasdaq : VERA), is a late clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for serious immunological diseases. Vera's mission is to advance treatments that target the source of immunologic diseases in order to change the standard of care for patients. Vera's lead product candidate is atacicept, a fully humanized fusion protein self-administered at home as a subcutaneous weekly injection that blocks both B-cell Activating Factor (BAFF) and A Proliferation Inducing Ligand (APRIL), which stimulate B cells to produce autoantibodies contributing to certain autoimmune diseases, including IgA nephropathy. Vera is also considering evaluating the role of atacicept in other immunologic disorders. Additionally, Vera is developing VT-109, a novel, next-generation dual BAFF / APRIL inhibitor in preclinical development, and MAU868, a monoclonal antibody designed to neutralize infection with BK virus, a polyomavirus that can have devastating consequences in certain settings such as kidney transplant. Position Summary :
Vera Therapeutics is looking for dynamic talent to join our team. We're seeking an Executive Director, National Accounts to join our Access and Value Team. Responsible for sales in Market Access in Medicare and Commercial channels. Prioritizes, directs and coordinates all strategy and tactics within these channels for the specified area. Responsible for adding value to the company by maximizing business opportunities in all areas of responsibility. Responsible for managing Regional Account Directors for the Access and Value Team
Responsibilities :
- Design and implement strategic account management planning for Managed Care and PBM accounts.
- Assess and develop individual plans of action for each customer segment.
- Managed Care Organizations : Identify opportunities and threats to current levels of reimbursement with the goal of maximizing product availability while maintaining or improving fiscal liability.
- Account responsibility for major accounts in each of the major trade classes-Managed Care, specifically focused on Ascent GPO, ESI PBM, Prime Therapeutics, Humana, and additional client plans or PBMs under the ESI affiliated clients.
- Set objectives and negotiate market position for the product(s) across all target payer accounts to maximize appropriate reimbursement status.
- Establish relationships with key decision-makers (VP or Director of Contracting, Medical Directors, etc.).
- Monitor and analyze national and regional healthcare policy trends, reimbursement changes, and payer decision-making processes (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid).
- Work with HEOR or Medical Affairs teams to ensure adequate market access with key customers through clinical value messaging or outcome-based discussions.
- Advise and consult with Marketing Strategy Leads in the development of formulary kit content for each of the unique managed care customers, develop tools that communicate or support our unique brand value propositions, and create pre-launch and launch activities aimed at full product stocking and distribution of Vera Therapeutics products throughout the U.S. marketplace.
- Direct the development of contract reimbursement strategies and guidelines, contracting templates, and performance management to ensure objectives and utilization audits are performed on an ongoing basis.
- Attend all major customer meetings, conventions, and trade shows, ensuring each event has specific objectives with respect to the Vera Therapeutics Access Team.
- Complete training objectives for Market Access as assigned.
- Develop a strong understanding within the Home Office staff of how assigned organizations impact the U.S. marketplace (commercial insurers, GPOs, Managed Medicaid, Exchanges, ACOs, IDNs, etc.).
- Add value to Vera Therapeutics products by assisting field personnel on Medical Policy and Reimbursement.
- Collaborate with our Trade and Specialty teams on our distribution network within each of the assigned plans and understand the SPP providers for the plan.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of market access professionals to deliver on corporate objectives within the Access and Value team.

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $237,000 - $275,000. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's geography, qualifications, skills, and experience.
At Vera, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity. Vera Therapeutics also offers various benefits offerings, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k match, flexible time off, and a number of paid holidays.
