Job Summary : Oversee and participate in all Accounts Payable activities for inventory, expense and credit recovery, supervise the accounts payable associates, serve as the Company go-to person for Accounts Payable department needs, and work with the Senior Accountant on efficiency, improvement, compliance, and other initiatives and projects.
These include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Meet or exceed the expectations of our customers by providing a positive customer experience.
- Effective oversight of the daily operations of the accounts payable department, including managing workflows, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.
- Effective supervision of the Accounts Payable associates.
- Ensure compliance of internal and external controls and review and improve A / P processes on a regular basis.
- Prepare and run accounts payable checks / ACH for disbursements as needed.
- Lead on projects to increase efficiency on A / P processes using technological advances.
- Work with the Senior Accountant on efficiency, improvement, compliance, and other initiatives and projects.
- Communicate with other departments that work directly with A / P in areas of process improvement and efficiency.
- Serve as the Company go-to person for Accounts Payable department needs.
- Maintain and review the collection of employer identification numbers or social security numbers to ensure compliance to IRS 1099 requirements.
- Assist with expense invoice entry as needed.
- Assist with working the AP Preview Queue and EDI 810 Queue for reconciling, processing, and posting inventory invoices as needed.
- Reconcile EDI invoices and recruit new vendors.
- Assist with accounts receivable and special projects as necessary.
- Ensure effective employee relations.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Work safely.
Supervisory Responsibilities : Responsibilities include hiring and retention, performance reviews, training and development, and discipline.
