About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Associate Vice President for Health Actuarial Solutions to play an integral role in ensuring the financial viability of our health reinsurance solutions. This pivotal position involves employing technical actuarial analysis, fostering client relationships, and driving business development. You will lead the development and implementation of pricing models, conduct comprehensive risk assessments, and generate financial projections essential for our health reinsurance initiatives.
In this role, you will work closely with clients and internal teams to create and implement reinsurance structures that align with performance goals and risk profiles. Moreover, you will have the chance to mentor and manage a team of actuarial associates. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining advanced pricing tools and models.
- Underwriting and evaluating risk across a range of health segments.
- Collaborating with various teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in pricing and evaluation processes.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, possess an FSA credential, and have at least 6 years of actuarial experience with a strong background in health products, particularly in value-based care and accountable care organizations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required, and experience with programming languages such as R, VBA, SQL, or similar tools is highly advantageous. Familiarity with actuarial modeling platforms will be considered a plus.
We are looking for a proactive professional with exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, outstanding communication abilities, and the capacity to navigate complexity while managing competing priorities.
