The ActuarialIntern will work with our North America Treaty Cat Modeling team. The Intern will be exposed to an array of the following:
- Challenging assignments with practical, on-the-job experience
- Learn how to operate with industry leading catastrophe models
- Learn to apply key concepts in the insurance / reinsurance industry
- Work with modeling experts in analyzing natural catastrophe exposure
- Assist modeling experts in research projects of catastrophe models
Work is done in a team environment, which utilizes the experience and knowledge of all team members. These exposures and projects will provide the Intern with an understanding of the dynamics of a corporate team and its environment.
Role Qualifications and Experience
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree with an accredited college or university (prefer sophomore year student)
- Open to students working towards a Master’s degree, but prefer first year students
- Strong written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Analytically minded and critical-thinking skills
- Organizational ability and attention to detail
- Capacity to work in a team environment
- Mathematics or statistics major a plus
- Prefer knowledge of statistical modeling packages, programming languages, and spreadsheets/databases
