RESPONSIBILITIES
Individual or group counseling
Behavior intervention and skill-building
Crisis intervention and emotional regulation
Support students with anxiety, trauma, behavior challenges
Collaborate with school staff and families
Adhere to federal/state/local procedures for record keeping, eligibility documentation, timelines and procedural safeguards.
- Develop and maintain a schedule to ensure compliance with all required meetings and services.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in Counseling
- Has obtained School Counselor License - issued by the Michigan Department of Education for working in K-12 settings with academic/social-emotional focus.
- Experience or specialized training in the field of pediatric mental health is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards.
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively and courteously both verbally and in writing.
- Has the ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system.
