Additional Information About the Role BJC is currently hiring for a Grant Accountant, a hybrid position that requires a general accounting background, with grants experience being a plus. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring grant budgets. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Readies and maintains financial and business transactions as they apply to organizational grants. Coordinates financial activities associated with specific grant funded projects, including preparing, updating and maintaining various grant budgets. Applies accounting principles that include work that is analytical and evaluative in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice and its application to grants. Responsibilities Maintains general ledger in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Coordinates as well as assists in the preparation and analysis of grant financial statements and reports. Prepares budget versus actual and variance analysis for grant funds. With supervision, facilitates with department and program staff regarding special accounting, financial reporting or analysis projects relative to grant funding.
