Cornerstone University invites candidates to apply for a part-time adjunct or affiliate nursing instructor position. Current opportunities include clinical instruction and classroom teaching, specifically in the areas of Adult Health Nursing and Mental Health Nursing. For classroom teaching, candidates should be able to develop and implement curricula in order to prepare students adequately for the challenges presented within all aspects of the nursing field. For clinical teaching, candidates should be able to supervise and actively engage with students in the clinical setting, ensuring the safe delivery of nursing care. Duties for both roles will include collection and submission of student assessment and evaluation materials.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will possess at least a master’s degree in nursing (MSN) with preference for a PhD in Nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. A Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) with experience directly related to the clinical site my be considered for clinical instructor positions only.
- An active RN license in the state of Michigan.
- Nursing education experience and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching are preferred, with preference given to individuals who can teach Adult Health and Mental Health topics.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Cornerstone‘s nursing program provides a Christ-focused education that is dedicated to smaller class sizes and one on one training of students. Our faculty enjoy working together to mentor and teach eager students our specific subject matter with a Christian Worldview.
- Physical requirements include the ability to teach up to 9 credits/semester of classes and labs on campus, use computers, operate lab equipment, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Candidates will be asked if they are authorized to work in the US.
