REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Intern - Part Time 19 - (Information Technology Section) at Parks Administration.
This Job Announcement will remain open until a sufficient number of applications are received. The Parks Administration complex is comprised of the Division Director and Assistant Director's offices, as well as the division's Business Operations, Environmental Management Group, Human Resources, Information Technology, Public Communications, and Operations offices.
This intern position will assist members of the Information Technology Section with helpdesk and desktop support for hardware and software, such as personal computer (PC) support, along with other hardware and software; analyzes, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves PC, printer, and other IT hardware and software related issues.
General Description Performs support duties in an agency in order to gain knowledge, skills and professional experience.
Works under close to general supervision according to set procedures. Work is reviewed through observation of performance, frequent conferences and reports.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Currently enrolled in, or graduated from, a degree-seeking program from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to area of assignment.
Special Certifications and Licenses None.
Preferences Possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License with authority to drive a county vehicle for duration of appointment.
Advanced Degree in Information Systems (Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate degrees)
Microsoft intermediate or advanced certifications (associate or expert)
VMware Certifications VCTA / VCP / VCAP
Database Administration Certifications (SQL, Oracle, or closely related certification)
Active Directory (AD) programming experience

SCOPE OF WORK

Applies research techniques and analytical methods to the study of administrative systems, organizational structures, policies and procedures related to the area of assignment.
Conducts special studies in conjunction with a project; analyzes data and makes recommendations based upon research.
Responsible for project assignments, research and analysis.
Provides information and assistance to the general public and other governmental agencies.
Prepares project reports and related data.
Provides administrative support to agency.
Performs related work as assigned.
