Description : Position Summary
As the Behavioral Health Admissions Coordinator, he / she participates in all aspects of the admissions process to include medical record and intake screening for medical clearance. Additionally, he / she must remain knowledgeable regarding rules in behavioral health care to ensure reimbursement for care and will work with utilization review, insurance companies, and community mental health agencies to obtain preauthorization's for inpatient treatment. Must demonstrate excellent customer service in working with both internal and external agencies..
What the Behavioral Health Admissions Coordinator will need :
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current RN Licensure in the State of Michigan, BLS
- 1-2 years' experience working with in a healthcare related field
- 3+ years of inpatient health care to include experience working in case management and dealing with insurance agencies or Community Mental Health Agencies (CMH) preferred
