What is this role?
We're seeking a dynamic, student-centred Senior University Admissions Counsellor to guide our diverse global student body through the university application journey, from early exploration right through to enrolment. You'll work with ambitious students across multiple time zones, helping them secure places at top universities in the US, UK, and beyond.
What are the main responsibilities for this role?
Student Guidance & Support
Provide personalised, holistic counselling from initial exploration through to final enrolment decisions
Build strong relationships with students and families, understanding their aspirations, strengths, and challenges
Guide students in identifying right-fit universities and support them through essays, interviews, and application timelines
Serve as a mentor and advocate, supporting students' overall development and wellbeing
University Relations & Networking
Develop and maintain strong relationships with admissions officers at US and international universities
Attend virtual and in-person college fairs, conferences, and admissions events
Stay current on changing admissions requirements, trends, and opportunities
Documentation & Application Management
Compile and organise all required student documentation for university applications
Generate official transcripts in formats required by various institutions and platforms
Coordinate recommendation letters and verify accuracy of all application materials
Manage document authentication, apostille processes, and translations as needed
Curriculum & Academic Advising
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of US and UK curricula (AP, IB, A-Levels, GCSEs)
Advise students on course selection that strengthens their applications
Guide students on standardised testing strategies (SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS)
Collaboration & Innovation
Work closely with teachers, leadership, and admin teams to support student success
Create workshops on interview skills, career exploration, and application strategy
Identify challenges and develop creative, student-first solutions
What skills and experience are required?
Bachelor's degree required; Master's in counselling, education, or related field preferred
3-5+ years of experience in college admissions counselling or university admissions
Deep understanding of US and UK educational systems and application processes
Experience with transcript preparation, document management, and academic records
Proven track record of successful placements across diverse institutions
Exceptional communication and organisational skills
Comfortable working remotely across multiple time zones
Experience in international or online education preferred
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Common Application, UCAS, Coalition App, and other platforms
Knowledge of financial aid processes and scholarship opportunities
Professional network within the university admissions community
Experience with data analysis to track student outcomes
