At Canterbury Place, we are dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate care and senior living services to our residents. We understand that transitioning into a senior living community is a significant step for seniors and their families. Our admissions team is the welcoming gateway to our community, ensuring a smooth, supportive, and stress-free enrollment process.
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Assistant Admissions Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. Working Monday through Friday, you will play a key role in supporting our admissions department, guiding families through the inquiry and intake process, and coordinating the logistics of new resident arrivals.
This is the perfect role for an administrative or customer service professional who loves working with people and wants to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare and senior care space.
Inquiry & Tour Support: Warmly respond to initial inquiries from prospective residents, family members, and hospital discharge planners; assist with conducting community tours.
Admissions Logistics: Coordinate room readiness, welcome packets, and moving logistics with the nursing, environmental services, and maintenance teams prior to a new resident's arrival.
Data & Documentation: Assist in gathering necessary medical and financial paperwork; accurately enter applicant data into our admissions tracking software.
Relationship Management: Maintain proactive communication with families and referral sources to ensure a seamless transition into Canterbury Place.
Community Relations: Assist the Admissions Director with outreach events, marketing efforts, and building strong relationships within the local Pittsburgh healthcare network.
1–2 years of experience in admissions, customer service, healthcare administration, or a related office support role preferred.
Prior experience in long-term care, senior living, or a medical setting is a plus, but not required.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills—compassion and active listening are essential.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn specialized electronic medical records/admissions software.
Hours: Part-time, Monday through Friday.
Specific daily hours (e.g., 4 to 5 hours per day, morning or afternoon focus) can be discussed and finalized during the interview process.
