About the RoleWe are looking for a Engineering Manager (Hands-On) to lead a small team at Nexxen. This role is ideal for Senior Developer who is eager to take the next step into a leadership role. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performance backend solutions in a dynamic environment where you can influence architecture and take ownership of the backend roadmap.What You'll DoLead and mentor a small team of offshore engineers (while remaining 80% hands-on).Architect, design, and implement scalable backend solutions for Nexxen's core products.Own backend infrastructure and ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance.Define and enforce best practices in coding, architecture, and system design.Work closely with product managers, frontend developers, and DevOps teams to align business and technical objectives.Research and integrate new technologies to optimize system performance and reliability.Oversee backend development lifecycle from planning to production deployment.What You'll Bring10+ years of experience in backend development, building scalable production systems.2+ years of experience in a leadership role (team lead / tech lead / Architect).Strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot) - Must!Experience in designing microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.Solid experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, Vertica).Experience with cloud-based environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for system design and architecture.Experience working with offshore teams - a big advantage.A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and drive
