Role : Mechanical Engineer
Location : Addison, TX
This is an onsite position supporting our Engineering team and will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of prototype and production units covering an entire cycle from concept / detailed design to manufacturing products and systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the mechanical design & development of aerospace prototypes and production units.
- Maintain and support existing product designs and address changes due to end of life components, material obsolescence, and product change requests.
- Able to review engineering models and drawings and make modifications to existing products.
- Detailed mechanical design work including 3D modeling, documentation, HALT testing, support tooling / fixtures.
- Responsible for creating 2D drawings for all associated components, assemblies, etc.
- Follow department processes and standards and ensure the design functionally meets customer requirements.
- Hands on testing of products and design validation documentation.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
- Zero (0) - three (3) years of mechanical design experience utilizing sheet metal, machined part, injection molded plastics, metal extrusions, & die casting in an aerospace or military environment.
- 3D CAD : - candidate must be familiar with 3D modeling software.
- Ability to understand / produce technical drawings and documents for internal and customer use.
- Ability to coordinate with the other discipline Engineers (EE & SE) within the department to produce multidisciplinary design solutions.
- Able to report mechanical design status on the assigned tasks whenever asked.
- Solid communication skills in dealing with other engineers, suppliers, etc.
- Familiarity with FAA / Aerospace design requirements is a plus.
