The Georgia Department of Agriculture Office of Weights and Measures is seeking an individual to serve as a Weights and Measures Large Capacity Inspector.

Job Duties :
Job Summary :
The selected applicant must reside in or be willing to relocate within a reasonable distance of the assigned territory and be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
This position requires occasional overnight travel.
Preferred Education and Experience :
Essential Functions :
A valid Georgia commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred; however, if the selected candidate does not have a CDL they must have a valid Georgia driver’s license and be willing to obtain a CDL within six months of employment. DOA will pay any fees associated with the new license.
NOTE : The Georgia Department of Agriculture conducts background checks on all final candidates. The hiring of applicants is contingent upon satisfactory results of employment verification, background, and criminal records investigations, and motor vehicle reports.

Vocational / Technical degree in agriculture, horticulture, environmental science, pest control, entomology or a closely related field from an accredited college OR High school diploma or GED AND One year of experience in the area of assignment OR Two years of college, which included 12 semester hours or 20 quarter hours in chemistry or life sciences.
