Agriculture Field Technician I

Gradient Crop Yield Solutions is an agriculture technology business (a subsidiary of The Morning Star Company). Through the implementation of high-quality sensor technology, Gradient offers growers a platform to assist them to improve profitability of their agriculture operations. Irrigation monitoring services offered by Gradient include daily soil moisture, evapotranspiration, plant water stress index and high-definition satellite crop imagery. Gradient colleagues take pride in delivering first class customer service by assisting growers in their decision-making process to achieve better yields.

This position has the potential to become a full-time role.

The Mission and Position :

This Colleague’s Mission is, “to cooperate with growers, leveraging Gradient technology, to achieve the best crop yield and quality possible, while utilizing resources to their maximum efficiency and providing world-class customer service”

Specific activities will include at least the following :

Assist in the precise installation and removal of sensor equipment in the field.
Closely monitor daily data and timely inform lead tech and growers of any possible in field issues.
Repair damaged sensors in a timely manner.
Maintain a high-level communication and service by enhancing valued grower relations.
Participate in business development opportunities / events.
Collaborate in research and development activities if required.

Qualifications :

Must have high initiative, and be able to work independently, in alignment with our system of Mission Focused Self-Management™.

Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record required (Ability to drive company vehicle).

Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, longer during season.

Ability to work outdoors in hot weather conditions.

Ability to use a computer proficiently.

Ability to communicate in Spanish is required.

Bachelor’s degree in an Agriculture related field preferred but not required.

Some hands-on experience in agriculture is preferred but not required.

Basic knowledge of soils and irrigation is a plus.

1 - 2 years work experience.

Compensation :

Comprehensive training offered in irrigation monitoring and soils. Starting wage will be $19-$24 per hour, in line with qualifications.
