Participate in at least 25 hours of professional development per year High school diploma / GED 1-year experience working as lead teacher in a licensed childcare facility Meets state childcare education requirements Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) Familiar with NAEYC standards Familiar with continuity of care Strong organizational skills Able to maintain professional composure in stressful situations Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Familiar with accreditation processpreferred College level coursework, Associate's or Bachelor's degree - preferred Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time Must be able to lift 40lbs Must be 18 years of age or older Must pass Level 2 background screening VPK certified if applicable The following childcare training courses must be completed within specified timeframes- Preschool Appropriate Practices - upon hire Florida early learning and developmental standards- Birth to kindergarten (2017) Onlineupon hire Florida early learning and developmental standards- Birth to kindergarten (2017) Instructor-Led - within 180 days of employment Special Needs Appropriate Practiceswithin 90 days of employment CPR and First Aidwithin 90 days of employment Other training requirements identified by leadership team May perform other duties assigned. Usual office working conditions. No physical exertion required. Travel within or outside of state. Light work : Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
