Salary offers will be made within the posted range. Placement within the range will be determined based on your similar work experience. The Port considers work experience to be similar if the scope and level of responsibility of your prior positions match the job being offered.
As the Assistant Director of Air Service Development, you will lead the Air Service Development team, creating and implementing various strategies required to solicit airlines across a multitude of countries and serve as the ongoing source of industry intelligence for executive members of the Port. You will successfully identify and develop new routes, promote and retain existing services, and align the needs of air carriers with the airport's operations and infrastructure.
- You will c reate strategies and make decisions regarding the direction of Seattle Tacoma International Airport's (SEA) international air service development and route network.
- You will lead, develop, and plan the outline of unique and creative Joint Airline Promotional Programs for SEA for all existing international airline customers to differentiate our airport's strengths from other competing peer airports.
- You and your team will coordinate and plan in-person events for global partners, including galas, dinners, gate events, meetings, and prep executive leadership with talking points, speeches, or specific cultural norms.
- You will direct and oversee a team of managers and external consultants in creating business cases and air service proposals.
- You will be the chief negotiator with key international airline decision-makers.
- You will travel extensively and frequently to negotiate potential air service implementation, propose enhancement changes to existing operations, and maintain the focus on the Seattle market.
- You will develop and present information as a subject matter expert on international route development and provide data to executive leadership on the latest trends and challenges within the airline industry.
- You will maintain the relationship between the Port, many international airlines, and businesses operating at SEA.
- You must understand those nations' cultures and laws and how to respectfully conduct and foster business relationships.
