Job description

Must have worked for an airline previously as a recruiter!

In this highly visible role on the Operations Talent Acquisition team, you'll be an integral part of ensuring Airport roles are staffed for operational readiness. You'll bring your recruitment expertise to devise and execute strategic staffing plans to hire talented team members. And guess what? This position also includes traveling to hiring events at our domestic airport locations, where we often make "on-the-spot" job offers. You'll be part of a broader Talent Acquisition team that ultimately provides the talent necessary to fuel the airline to deliver its goals and objectives.

What you'll do

  • Ensure Airlines roles are staffed for operational readiness
  • Partner with multiple hiring managers to understand their staffing needs
  • Travel to domestic locations to attend hiring events multiple times a month, sometimes on weekends
  • Conduct thorough intake sessions, clarifying staffing needs and responsibilities, and ensuring job descriptions reflect accurate knowledge, skills and abilities required.
  • Proactively source talent, using various techniques, such as job boards, social media, and networking resources.
  • Acts as a resource to hiring managers on conducting behavioral interviewing, and facilitates selection process and discussion, in order to ensure effective, legal interviewing practices.
  • Manages positive internal and external applicant experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Influences overall hiring process to achieve timeliness and agreements
  • Responds to talent acquisition needs and inquiries from business leaders, hiring managers, TA leadership, etc.
  • Provide hiring manager accurate and timely update on applicant activity, tracks talent acquisition metrics and reports trends and issues to TA leadership, providing recommendations for improvement
  • Maintains up-to-date applicant records in the applicant tracking system for accurate reporting and analysis
  • Maintains strong cross functional partnerships with business, hiring managers and other talent acquisition functions
  • Closely collaborate with third party vendors involved in hiring to provide guidance and / or clarification on union contracts, validation of pay scales, follow-up on requisition statuses, and process approvals
  • Conducts recurrent business calls with leaders to discuss high-volume hiring, including strategy and updates
  • Maintains strong cross functional partnerships with Legal, Labor team, and other stakeholders in the recruiting process.
  • Travel up to 50% will be required.

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience / training
  • At least 2 years of recent experience in a recruiting function
  • Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • High-volume recruiting experience, especially in a unionized environment
  • Experience conducting competency-based interviews
  • Reporting experience relative to Talent Acquisition performance and metrics
  • Experience with SuccessFactors or other large enterprise ATS systems (Taleo, iCIMS, etc.)
  • Experience collaborating with RPO partner(s)
  • Experience organizing and conducting hiring events
  • Airline experience
  • Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Excellent relationship management skills, ability to establish credibility, and partner with leaders to identify talent gaps, needs, risk and plans for actions
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong customer orientation and influencing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of employment law, corporate recruitment practices
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to think strategically; creative and innovative thinking skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Knowledge of workforce planning (forecast, identify specific needs, skills, locations, and behaviors) is a plus
  • Pay Range : $35-42 / HR The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
