The MWAA Airline Liaison Office (ALO), acts as the liaison or the Metropolitan Washington Airlines Committee (MWAC) on matters with broad implications to air carriers, including matters related to Airline Use Agreements, airport policies, rules and regulations, financial and technical analyses, capital project development and implementation, airline and airport operations, and other airport affairs matters. The ALO assists in fostering positive relationships between MWAA and the airlines and must be committed to ensuring clear and consistent communication. MWAC is a defined group of carriers as outlined in the Airport Use and Premises Lease (Use Agreement). MWAC has two co-chairs, one from IAD and one from DCA.
The job activities outlined below are intended to allow the airlines to be informed and work collaboratively with each other, MWAA, and other key stakeholders in order to support the successful implementation of MWAA's Capital Plan, airline objectives, and other related matters. These activities are facilitated through capabilities and experience with airport operations, airport finance, crisis management skills, and an understanding of regulatory requirements as well as a focus on communication and coordination, consensus building and critical issue resolution.
Requirements
AIRPORT & GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS SUPPORT
- Attend Board meetings as required
- Work with MWAC Chair with coordination and development of agendas for airline-only and airline-MWAA meetings, conference calls and activities, and working toward consensus among the MWAC
- Participate in regularly scheduled meetings, including the MWAC meetings, and participate in impromptu meetings at the request of the MWAC members, and preparing materials as necessary, providing pre-meeting briefings as appropriate, providing post-meeting de-briefs as appropriate and taking and distributing meeting minutes to the MWAC
- Establish, maintain and promote excellent working relationships and effective lines of communication with and among the MWAC and MWAA executives, staff and consultants, and various MWAA departments, as necessary
- Respond to requests for information and / or assistance primarily from members of the MWAC
- Develop and maintain an internal website for the exclusive use to the MWAC which will serve as a communication tool and provide access to the MWAC members for all news, meetings, events, documents, presentations, and exchanges between the MWAC, MWAA, the ALO, and other airport stakeholders
- Become familiar with the terms and conditions of the AUA, including rates and charges methodology, airline rights and obligations, and advise the MWAC regarding same
- Assist the MWAC in identifying, reviewing, analyzing and addressing with MWAA airline or airport operational issues as such may arise from time to time
- Prepare an annual ALO budget for review and approval by the MWAC; maintain an annual ALO task list to track accountability, recurring deliverables and timelines, and scheduled events and meetings; provide an annual summary of ALO tasks and accomplishments for the previous year, and goals and anticipated ALO efforts for the following year

WORKING CONDITIONS
Primarily in an office environment at or around IAD, DCA or the MWAA offices. May be required to travel as needed to company and client sites. Periodic weekend or evening work is expected.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Position reports to the Implementation Services Division Leader.
