Contracting Specialist
You will apply knowledge of contracting principles, laws, regulations and procedures, as well as general knowledge of the Government-wide Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC).
You will assist the Director of Procurement Management and Assessment Program (PMAP) with programmatic assessments and policy / procurement reviews and implementation.
You will apply knowledge of Contracting Community Management practices and the NAVFAC Contracting Community Management Plan to include DAWIA policies, regulation, and practices as related to the Contracting career field.
You will lead a team of professionals towards achieving procurement objectives.
You will analyze and evaluate procurement documents to ensure compliance and established acquisition regulations.
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
