Total Compensation : $180K - $200K
Oakleaf Partnership is working with a prestigious global law firm to hire a Manager, Work Allocation & Development for their New York or Washington, D.C. office. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the professional development and talent management of legal professionals in a high-caliber, international firm.
About the Role
The Work Allocation & Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring that associates are staffed on matters in a way that balances business needs with professional growth opportunities. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to work closely with key stakeholders, including staffing partners and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Resource Management
- Ensure equitable, transparent, and consistent work allocation across associates.
- Manage staffing requests and collaborate with Staffing Partners to optimize workload distribution.
- Monitor and report on utilization and work allocation metrics.
- Conduct regular check-ins with associates to understand career goals, provide professional development support, and collect feedback.
- Assess capacity and ensure timely and efficient staffing of matters.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding staffing initiatives and business needs.
- Escalate high-risk or sensitive staffing issues to senior leadership as needed.
