Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of three or less warehouse / driver associates. Participates in hiring process and formal performance evaluations. Approve timecards, create schedules as necessary.
• Ensuring the warehouse is secure, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and ensuring their safe use.
• Following federal, state, and local regulations for warehousing, shipping, and material handling.
• Creating systems for organization and communication and ensuring efficient space utilization.
• Maintaining health and safety standards, safety training certifications and ensuring the safety of staff.
• Read customer orders to determine items to be gathered and distributed.
• Convey materials and items from receiving areas to storage areas.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks or other storage areas according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or in boxes. Convey orders to staging areas and / or onto trucks for delivery.
• Mark materials with identifying information.
• Record amount of materials or items received and distributed.
• Perform data entry of records into the computer.
• Complete requisition forms to order materials from other company locations.
• Prepare parcels for mail.
• Perform physical counts of existing inventory and maintain inventory records.
• Act as back-up when delivery driver is unavailable.
