Position Overview The Manager of Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) provides corporate leadership, strategic direction, and technical governance overall quality management activities across Hays Electrical Services’ construction, prefabrication, and service portfolios.

This includes mission-critical data-center developments, large-scale electrical infrastructure, and commercial installations.

This position leads the company’s QA/QC function, developing and enforcing companywide quality standards, inspection protocols, and commissioning readiness procedures to ensure full compliance with project specifications, codes, and client expectations.

The Director establishes the framework, staffing model, and accountability mechanisms that ensure quality is built into every phase of work execution.

Operating within the Operational Assurance Division, this role partners closely with the Directors of EHS and Commissioning & Energy Control to deliver an integrated governance model for safety, quality, and energy control.

The Director of QA/QC serves as the company’s primary authority for workmanship, specification adherence, and inspection integrity, ensuring consistent standards across all operating regions.

Key Responsibilities ● Provide corporate leadership and direction to the QA/QC organization, ensuring consistent quality governance across all projects. ● Develop and implement the Corporate Quality Management System (CQMS), establishing procedures, standards, and controls aligned with NEC, NEMA, NFPA, and mission-critical client specifications. ● Oversee the development and maintenance of companywide QA/QC policies, procedures, templates, and inspection tools to standardize execution. ● Lead the recruitment, selection, and development of project-level QA/QC Managers and Inspectors, ensuring adequate coverage, technical competence, and alignment with corporate expectations. ● Establish performance goals, review metrics, and provide coaching and support to QA/QC teams deployed across the portfolio. ● Serve as the senior escalation point for project quality issues, coordinating resolution with project leadership, corporate management, and client representatives as required. ● Define the overall QA/QC framework governing prefabrication, field installation, testing, and commissioning readiness. ● Develop and maintain standardized Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Non-Conformance & Corrective Action procedures (NCR/CAR), and Turnover Documentation Protocols. ● Ensure QA/QC requirements are fully integrated into project planning, procurement, and construction sequencing processes. ● Drive consistency between design specifications, installation standards, and inspection deliverables across all projects. ● Collaborate with the Director of Commissioning & Energy Control to align inspection milestones with system turnover and energization readiness. ● Coordinate with the Director of EHS to embed quality controls that reinforce safe work practices and regulatory compliance. ● Maintain governance of quality records and documentation systems to ensure traceability, accuracy, and audit readiness. ● Provide corporate governance of QA/QC performance across all projects through structured reviews, performance metrics, and reporting. ● Oversee the execution quality of project-level QA/QC programs, ensuring compliance with the Corporate Quality Management System and client specifications. ● Establish companywide quality performance indicators, including rework rates, NCR/CAR closure trends, client audit findings, and commissioning acceptance metrics. ● Lead corporate reviews of significant quality events, root-cause analyses, and corrective-action tracking to closure. ● Ensure lessons learned and systemic improvements are formally captured, communicated, and embedded into future projects. ● Develop and maintain standardized governance tools and dashboards to provide executive visibility into quality performance trends across the portfolio. ● Collaborate with Construction, Prefabrication, and Commissioning leadership to ensure alignment between production, safety, and quality objectives. ● Participate in design and constructability reviews to ensure quality standards are embedded early in the project lifecycle. ● Support Business Development and Preconstruction teams by defining QA/QC deliverables, resource needs, and quality commitments in proposals. ● Represent Hays Electrical Services during client quality audits, witness testing, and executive-level performance reviews. ● Maintain a visible leadership presence through periodic project visits to reinforce quality expectations, engage with QA/QC teams, and assess program effectiveness. ● Facilitate two-way communication between field QA/QC personnel and corporate leadership to ensure emerging quality issues and improvement opportunities are captured and addressed. ● Lead cross-project coordination meetings with QA/QC Managers and Inspectors to align lessons learned, best practices, and upcoming readiness milestones. ● Provide strategic feedback to project leadership teams to strengthen compliance, documentation integrity, and overall delivery quality. ● Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement across all QA/QC functions through communication, recognition, and consistent leadership visibility. ● Evaluate the effectiveness of QA/QC programs and drive continuous improvement in processes, documentation, and field execution. ● Develop and maintain a corporate quality dashboard summarizing key metrics and trends for executive review. ● Identify training needs and collaborate with Learning & Development to build technical training programs for field leadership, foremen, and QA/QC personnel. ● Benchmark company performance against industry best practices and client frameworks to maintain a position of technical leadership within the mission-critical market.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
