Job Description
Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school-based position is available for a skilled American Sign Language Interpreter to support a high school student who is Deaf or hard of hearing. This role requires providing clear and effective ASL interpretation during classroom instruction and other academic activities to ensure the student has full access to the curriculum. The position is onsite, offering direct support throughout the school day in a structured high school environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers using fluent American Sign Language
- Interpret core content and classroom discussions accurately to support academic success
- Assist with general coursework and ongoing classroom interactions
- Collaborate with educators to address the individual educational needs of the student who is Deaf or hard of hearing
- Follow oral and written instructions to maintain high standards of service
