Job Description :
The Lab Operation group at SonoThera is seeking to hire a Surgery Assistant to become an integral part of the vivarium operations team. This position requires adaptability and an ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced, start-up environment. A qualified candidate will have broad experience in small animal care and surgical support. The person in this role will need to feel passionate about working with animals, enjoy and excel at organization, and support and maintain a clean, safe and compliant working environment. This is an on-site Monday-Friday position.
Technical Requirements and Skills :
- Process and sterilize laboratory reagents and supplies.
- Restock, organize, and store samples in accordance with all safety and other requirements to ensure safety of personnel and integrity of the samples.
- Clean and maintain surgery equipment.
- Under the direction of the surgeon, administers anesthetic agents, intravenous fluids and monitors anesthesia and post-surgical recovery.
- General knowledge of feeding, caging, and space requirements for multiple species of laboratory animals used in biomedical research.
- Other duties as assigned.
General Requirements :
Compensation : The salary range for this position is $25.00 / hr to $26.50 / hr USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including, without limitation, individual education, experience, tenure, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data, including potential adjustments for geographic location.
