Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Applied Learning Operations Coordinator oversees administrative processes and procedures that support applied learning in the College of Health and Human Services including but not limited to the following :

  • Directly supervises and assigns workload to Applied Learning Operations staff and provides secondary support to other AAOps units
  • Responsible for setting vision and strategic planning for all Applied Learning Operations initiatives
  • Develops, processes, and tracks site affiliation agreements for all CHHS internship, clinical, and field placements
  • Tracks and documents student compliance with university (e.g., liability insurance) and clinical placement site requirements (e.g., immunizations and criminal background checks)
  • Represents CHHS in 3rd party agency contracts, compliance, and system integrations
  • Assesses and advocates for program needs to senior administration and provides input on college and school strategic planning initiatives
  • Consults with General Counsel to interpret and communicate University policy changes affecting internship, clinical, and field placements within the CHHS
  • Manages all data internship, clinical, and field placement data, and provides reports to faculty administrators, accrediting and governing bodies, and community partners as requested
  • Advises and informs senior administrators of legal, financial, and other factors impacting internship, clinical, and field placement activities

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Masters degree in health administration, business, clinical health related field, or other similar related discipline
  • Two years of experience in the area of assignment, of which at least one is supervisory or in a lead-worker capacity; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience in working with healthcare systems and other clinical providers
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in setting vision and strategic planning in an organizational structure
  • Ability to act professionally with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to become a subject matter expert in applied learning operations
  • Experience in integrating complex processes with multiple components
  • Experience in a College environment within a University
  • Experience managing and executing Applied Learning related policies and procedures
  • Experience working with senior academic administrators, faculty leaders, and community members while managing interrelationships
  • Experience navigating student information system databases and utilize database functionality to research data and perform queries

    Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

    This position is assigned to the Applied Learning Operations (ALO) unit of the Academic Affairs Operations core service team within the CHHS and reports directly to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs of CHHS. The Applied Learning Operations unit for CHHS fosters collaborative, team-oriented partnerships with faculty, staff, and community partners, and identifies and implement policies and processes, using technology and problem-solving, to streamline applied learning experiences that adhere to designated program, University, and professional standards as needed.
