Sentara Princess Anne Hospital Hiring An Armed Security Officer

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital is hiring an Armed Security Officer! The position is located in Virginia Beach, VA and is a full-time role with a rotating shift, primarily covering weekends and occasionally weekday shifts. The role involves 36 hours per week, with shifts from 9 : 00am to 8 : 00pm on weekends and covering weekday shifts as needed.

The Armed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees. The role requires the ability to exercise discretion regarding the use of weapons, actively monitoring Concealed Weapons Detection Systems, patrolling the campus, and responding to routine and emergency situations. The officer also conducts camera surveillance, maintains department logs, and uses computer skills for documentation.

To bolster safety and security, the following requirements must be met :

• Sentara has implemented a Fit for Duty assessment.
• Officer must pass a Psychological Evaluation and Assessment.
• Obtain Virginia DCJS Armed Officer Certificate within 90 days of hire.
• Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) and Handle with Care Certification required within 90 days of hire.
