Job Description
JOB TITLE : Art Teacher
EXEMPT : Yes
SALARY LEVEL : Certified Salary Schedule
LOCATION : Desert Mirage
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT : In accordance with current school schedule
REPORTS TO : Principal
SUMMARY : To develop in children an interest in and the ability to express themselves creatively in visual terms, utilizing skills and techniques of artistic expression appropriate to their interests and appreciation; to develop aesthetic understanding and appreciation; to assist, coordinate, consult with and supervise other teachers discovering and developing talents of children in the field of art.
SUPERVISES : Instructional Assistant (if applicable)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's Degree with major or minor in art
- Arizona Teaching Certificate
- Two's years successful teaching experience with at least one year in art education
Such alternatives to the above required & preferred qualifications as the Superintendent / Designee may find appropriate and acceptable

EVALUATION :
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provision of the Board policy or evaluation of professional personnel.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret education materials and programs. Ability to write reports, procedure manuals, and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of teachers, students, administration, and the community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Ability to work with mathematical such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
