CND is seeking to hire a highly skilled, collaborative, and flexible bioinformatics professional to lead the strategy and formation of CND's diagnostics data ecosystem and develop it into a core strategic asset of the company. Reporting into CND's leadership of the Research & Development (R&D) department, the ideal candidate will leverage their current life science industry experience, scientific depth, and proficiency working with a diverse range of structured and unstructured diagnostic, clinical, genetic and other forms of multimodal datasets. The role will define a staged approach that begins with the fundamental bioinformatics architecture required to achieve the company's research objectives and service offering to biopharmaceutical clients followed by the implementation of systems, processes and people to fulfill strategic goals. The individual will access and capture an array of data from current and future sources, including the company's data files holding 40,000 patient cases leveraging CND's history of commercial testing, records from multiple grant funded research studies, and data from biopharmaceutical drug trials involving the use of CND's biomarker technology.
Job Responsibilities :
- Define the necessary bioinformatics ecosystem and architecture in collaboration with the R&D and IT teams to deliver on company goals.
- In close connection with IT leadership, oversee planning, designing, development, and implementation of bioinformatics infrastructure, including data, hardware, software components, and system integration.
- Over time, build a nimble team to develop infrastructure and allow for effective analysis of multimodal data for research and strategic purposes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive programs from initial research to actionable data for R&D and Commercial purposes
- Develop and deploy novel bioinformatics analyses and tools and monitor emerging technologies.
- Work closely with R&D leadership on strategic proposals for accelerating bioinformatics improvements, roadmaps for transforming existing capabilities, and status reports for ongoing bioinformatics R&D projects.
- Design and develop guidelines and processes to ensure high levels of quality and efficiency for internal users of bioinformatics data.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for bioinformatics technology development and operations.
- Provide advice, guidance, and mentoring to bioinformatics staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
