Job Responsibilities
The Film and Media Arts Instructor reports directly to the Department Head. The primary responsibilities of this faculty member include teaching courses through systematically planned and delivered instruction, designing and developing curriculum, evaluating student performance, and advising students. The candidate must be able to teach on a flexible schedule that may include night classes and should be prepared to work long hours outdoors in inclement weather at various locations.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
This position requires an associate degree in film production or a closely related field and six (6) years of proven professional film production experience OR a bachelor’s degree in film production or a closely related field and four (4) years of proven professional film production experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidate will have experience teaching film production at the college level, utilizing various technologies and teaching methods. The candidate must possess well-developed skills in all phases of the production process, with a particular focus on cinematography, lighting, and grip equipment. The role requires someone who can show initiative, work independently with sound judgment, and maintain high standards of customer service. Additionally, the position entails frequently lifting and transporting heavy equipment, as well as working on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding. Candidates must be able to thrive in an environment characterized by ongoing technological changes. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential for this position.
