Job descriptionAbility to convey ideas in the classroom with enthusiasm and creativity. Exhibit a sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of K-12 students Ability to interact successfully with a broad student population and work with various learning styles. Bachelor of Arts Degree preferred, or equivalent experience / mastery in the field. Teaching credential or certification in Art a plus English Learner Authorization Strong teaching and interpersonal skills Experience arranging student art shows and exhibits. Mental Demands : high workflow management, high project coordination Finger Dexterity : using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together. Talking : especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly. Average Hearing : able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. Average Visual Abilities : ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery. Physical Strength : sedentary work. Sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally (almost all office jobs). Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required. Preliminary Credential : $68,900 / year

How You Will Make an Impact
Teach engaging art class(es) for K-12 grade students. The General Art Teacher will ensure a positive, fun, supportive and creative experience for all students.

- Teach a range of art appreciation instruction including fundamentals of color, shape, hand technique, dimension, layout, and design.
- Communicate instruction to students in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Prepare materials for instruction.
- Be on time and prepared for class to start at the designated time.
- Provide set-up / clean-up and any other tasks, as arranged in advance.
- Work with the Educational Administrators to plan classes.
- Communicate regularly with Educational Staff and Parents about student progress.
- Participate in departmental resource and program enhancement.
- Maintain currency in art and design techniques / method.
- Participate in school activities that facilitate student learning and achievement.
- Administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time
- Adhere to attendance policies.
