Principal Responsibilities :
Camp JCC is seeking a qualified, energetic, and compassionate candidate as an ART SPECIALIST for summer 2024. The art teacher is responsible for planning and conducting art projects that foster an environment of fun and creativity. The position requires an ability to manage day-to-day interactions with children in grades K-9, a strong ability to work collaboratively with the Camp JCC team, and the capacity to be flexible.
The dates of employment for 2024 are June 10-August 9, which includes a week of Tsevet (Staff) Training. Work hours are Monday-Friday 8 : 30-4 : 30, excluding extended days that involve early arrival and dismissal in the early evening.
Minimum Qualifications :
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Plans a variety of art projects for children ages 4 through 15
Provides a planned and thoughtful program, infused with Jewish values, that will interest and excite campers
Adapts individual and small-group instruction to the needs of campers with varying intellectual and artistic abilities
Multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Plans and directs engaging, age-appropriate activities
Serves as a positive role model in the camp community
Communicates with leadership to order supplies for projects
Manages risk, supervises participants, and models safe best practices while working
Other duties as assigned by camp leadership
REQUIREMENTS :
Experience working with children in a camp, school or daycare environment
Must enjoy playing and interacting with children
Organized, enthusiastic, and energetic
Must be a creative and innovative thinker and planner
Must take initiative, be self-directed, and capable of independently identifying and solving problems
Must have excellent communication skills and work well with both children and adults
Pass a required background check
