Description

Summer Seasonal Art Camp Counselors supervise and engage groups of children during the Coral Springs Museum of Art's Summer Art Camp, ensuring a safe, creative, and positive environment while supporting daily activities and art instruction.

Starting Pay for all Summer Camp - Art Counselors will be as Independent Contractors signing an annual contract. Instructors must provide a certificate of insurance (COI) and a level 2 background check. Contract specifics will be discussed during the interview process.
Examples of Duties

• Assists Teaching Artists in the classroom by helping manage campers' behavior, distributing supplies, and supporting individual campers with their art projects through demonstrations and answering questions.
• Supervises groups of children during breaks and lunch periods, while providing interactive activities and games to engage them during free time.
• Chaperones groups of children to outdoor activities at Mullin's Park (adjacent to the museum) alongside museum staff, maintaining constant supervision and engaging children in sports and field games.
• Ensures the safety of children, including providing first aid and promptly informing supervisors in the event of emergencies.
• Promotes respect, fair play, creativity, and kindness in children's daily behavior and interactions.
• Oversees camper drop-off and pick-up periods to maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment.

Typical Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and at least one year of college required. Basic knowledge of art media, preferred.
• Must have experience working with children/teens.
• Level 1 and Level 2 background checks will be required for the position.

Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations, and traffic signals when driving.
