Job Details

Key Responsibilities and Duties :

Trust Accounting (60%)

Supervise daily trust accounting operations including staff oversight and workflow management

Manage client trust account transactions : deposits, disbursements, wire transfers

Ensure compliance with State Bar trust accounting rules

Perform monthly 3-way reconciliations

Review and verify settlement statements and disbursement ledgers

Handle trust account audits and respond to regulators

Train and mentor accounting staff

Financial Reporting & Analysis (25%)

Assist in preparing financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)

Provide timely KPI and financial reports to management

Oversee reconciliations and tax filings

Post journal entries accurately

Manage A / P and A / R, including vendor relations and collections

Other (15%)

Lead ad hoc financial projects

Assist in budgeting and forecasting

Manage payroll and commissions

Generate Salesforce-based KPI reports

Execute wire transfers and ACH disbursements

Qualifications – Needed :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

CPA (Active or Inactive)

Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, preferably in a law firm with contingency-fee focus

2+ years in a supervisory role

Expertise in trust accounting and regulatory compliance

Experience with Netsuite, QuickBooks, and Excel

Familiarity with personal injury settlements and lien resolution

Prior experience with trust audits preferred
