We are looking for a Characterization Lab Technician to perform a variety of metrology, characterization and support tasks throughout the lab and facility. After an initial training period working normal business hours, working hours would shift to 7am-4pm.

Description

• Handle chemicals, and materials sample preparation for various characterization equipment.
• Be comfortable with learning to operate a variety of characterization techniques.
• Perform defined experiments based on SOPs on various characterization equipment including Press Density, Tap Density, XRD, SEM, BET, IGA, PSA, TGA, ICP-OES.
• Assist engineers in developing and refining methods and procedures with safety, fidelity, and throughput in mind.
• Receive, uncrate, transport, and assemble equipment.
• Clean laboratory glassware and tools.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct comprehensive chemical inventories throughout the lab.
• Maintain a stock of consumables including sample containers, machine replacement parts, cleaning supplies, and laboratory chemicals.
• Actively participate in safety duties including conducting inspections, utilizing safe work practices, and helping other staff to work safely.
• Perform tasks in a laboratory environment with minimal supervision.
