Interviews, trains, supervises, and evaluates branch staff and volunteers. Assists the Branch Manager with overseeing facility operations, collection maintenance, and staff supervision. Oversees outreach to the community and mobile library operations. Takes a leadership role in programming for the library system, including supervising junior staff, monitoring program budgets, and long-range program planning. Provides library services, collection development, and cataloging. Takes a leadership role in marketing and social media for the library, including creating and posting content, and supervising and training junior staff on marketing needs. Performs research, customer assistance, programming, ordering, statistics compilation, deposit reconciliation, and enforcement of library policies. Librarian II assumes the responsibilities of Librarian III - Branch Manager in their absence. Essential FunctionsAssists the Librarian III with : Establishing, evaluating, and revising branch goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.Implementing, monitoring,compiling, and reporting statistical summaries of strategic
the branch budget for staffing and supplies.Preparing and conducting regular staff meetings.Overseeing maintenance, safety, and security of the branch.Overseeing programming and marketing.Supervises, hires, trains, evaluates, reviews, and provides effective leadership to paraprofessional and clerical staff. Maintains vibrant and attractive collections by employing merchandising techniques, presenting engaging displays, and following adopted collection maintenance practices (weeding, running usage reports in the ILS, and other evolving library maintenance practices.) Provides exceptional customer service at the front desk, resolves customer situations or complaints, and provides direction to staff on customer issues. Answers reference questions, performs reader advisory, and assists customers with digital devices, promoting all material types and products. Orders supplies for the branch.
