Vaco Boston has partnered with an investment management firm in the Greater Boston area and they are looking to hire an Assistant Controller to add to their team. The Assistant Controller will perform duties necessary to maintain the accounting records of the company and related entities.
Responsibilities :
- Facilitate and complete monthly close including partnership allocations
Day to day accounting and reporting of partnership proprietary capital fund including capital calls, distributions, allocations and month end reporting for the partnership and individual partners
Prepare and review partner statements
Lead year end audits with external auditors
Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
Review monthly account reconciliations
Prepare reports for senior management
Other accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and recordkeeping projects as needed Qualifications :
B.S. degree in Accounting
CPA or progression toward the CPA would be a plus
4-10 years of progressive accounting experience
Ability to discreetly handle confidential and sensitive information
Extensive corporate accounting and partnership experience including monthly close process, partner allocations, journal entry postings and cash and balance sheet reconciliation
Understanding of accounting controls as they relate to the investment management industry
Ability to challenge current processes in order to improve them
Strong work ethic, initiative and proactive approach
Possess exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
