Description
The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor in the Clinician Educator line in the Department of Medicine and Division of Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine. This position focuses on the building and expansion of the clinical and research activities in the Stanford Adult Pulmonary Hypertension Program.
The successful applicant’s responsibilities will include inpatient and outpatient clinical care, teaching fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as the pursuit of individual scholarly interests. There is a strong preference for candidates with interest in developing a distinct clinical program. Board eligibility or certification in pulmonary and critical care medicine is required.
The major criterion for appointment in the Clinician Educator line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care and clinical teaching appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Clinal duties, which will comprise approximately 80 percent effort, will be focused on pulmonary vascular disease / pulmonary hypertension (PH), critical care, and pulmonary medicine :
- 10 weeks Stanford Health Care (SHC) PH inpatient service,
- 1 half day per week SHC PH outpatient clinic,
- 6 weeks of attending at Good Samaritan Hospital ICU,
- 1.5 nights per month ICU call (SHC TriValley or Good Samaritan Hospital),
- 2 weeks of SHC Pulmonary Consult,
- one half day per month SHC Pulmonary fellow’s clinic, and
- 1 day per week (2 half day clinic sessions / week (Emeryville or TriValley),
The location or locations of practice will be determined by your department chair and / or division chief and may be subject to change. Your practice will be primarily at Stanford Health Care.

The expected base pay range for this position is :
Med / PACCM-Pulmonary Hypertension
Clinical Assistant Professor - $233,000 - $268,000
Clinical Associate Professor - $280,000 - $317,000
This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
