Job / Assignment Purpose : Under the direct supervision of the Department Chair (DC), the Program Director (PD) will maintain the role of a full-time faculty member while managing an accredited instructional program within the College. Essential duties and responsibilities (in concert with the department chair and Dean) include the following :

The management and administration of the program, including planning, evaluation, budgeting, selection of faculty and staff, maintenance of accreditation, and commitment to strategies for professional development. Being an effective teacher, to maintain current knowledge in their field, and to have pedagogic skills that are appropriate for our students. Contributing to the community of scholars, and to represent the College in the community. Maintaining current knowledge of the standards of CAPTE as well as complete all accreditation reporting. Conducting meetings with faculty within the program and conveys information between the department, division, and / or college as appropriate. Leading and maintaining curriculum within the program. Assessing student learning outcomes, program assessment, and any other related reports needed for accreditation. Providing feedback to faculty for performance reviews and assist with obtaining part-time faculty as appropriate. Demonstrating the values of San Jacinto College as expected of all employees.
